The Grand finale marking the end of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of St. Jude Apostolate in Nigeria was held on Saturday 6th February, 2010 at YCC Car Park. The programme recorded successful attendance with visitors from Nigeria, Benin Republic and Mali all present to grace the occasion.
The joyous programme was led by the Chairman, Dame Felicia Okoli, Special Guest of Honour, Chief (Mrs.) Tessa Egbe-Ikimi and the Father and Mother of the Day, Chief & Chief (Mrs.) Tom Halim. Also present were the Director of St. Jude Apostolate, Rev. Br. Stephen Lucas, O.P., the Pastor of St. Dominic's Parish, Rev. Fr. Felix Onemheghie, O.P., the Prior, Rev. Fr. Damian Nwannah, O.P., Fr. Gilbert Thesing, O.P., Fr. Edward Riley, O.P., Fr. Richard Ogedengbe, O.P., Fr. Martins Aitsebaomo, O.P., with other high profile guests and friends of St. Jude along with the Golden Jubilee Planning Committee.
The celebration began with an opening prayer and a welcome speech by Rev. Br. Stephen Lucas, O.P., who expressed sincere gratitude to everyone and emphasized the need to support the on going construction work of the Dominican College to meet the needs of the yearning students toward their academic pursuit and growth of qualitative education in Nigeria. Thereafter, the St. Jude's Thaddeus Choir gave their best as they sang the anniversary anthem to usher in the celebration proper.

The height of the anniversary were with a welcome performance from St. Jude members from Benin Republic, cutting and sharing of the anniversary cake and laudable donations by guests towards the building fund of the Dominican College to ensure its realization as addressed by Br. Stephen.
Also interesting were the favours received through the intercession of St. Jude as stated by Dame Felicia Okoli concerning her new approved office complex as-well-as Chief (Mrs) Tessa Egbe-Ikimi, who has 'Jude' in the name of her four children. St. Jude has been a miraculous worker in their lives and they encouraged more devotion to the Patron Saint of Difficult Cases.
Mr. Chris Nbanewe was not left out in the programme as he was the amiable MC of the day and supported by Chief Mrs. Halim; who also uses her 'mother' position, eloquent and sweet words to motivate the entire audience for a successful outcome. As the event progresses, everyone took to the dance floor to celebrate fifty years of St. Jude Apostolate in Nigeria, with an interesting toast from Mr. Christopher Okonkwo.

Thereafter, the raffle was drawn to conclude the programme. One Master Ugwu Kamsiyochukwu with ticket number 0010428 emerged the winner of the star prize (Kia Car) with other consolation prizes won by other people.

It is interesting to note that Mr. George Ugwu (father to Kamsiyiochukwu) attended a wedding Mass on that day and was persuaded by the tickets salesmen who were eager to make more sales, and he decided to support the work of God and bought just three tickets before proceeding to the wedding reception, where he was invited as an MC/comedian for the couple.
Miraculously, when the draw was made, the ticket of his son 'Kamsiyochukwu' meaning 'how I pleaded to God.' was picked by Rev. Br. Stephen Lucas, O.P. from the drum. What a miracle as Mr. Ugwu was atounded and could not believe the love of God. There and then, he praised God loudly and thanked Rev. Br. Stephen Lucas, O.P., Dame Felicia Okoli and other guests present.

However, Mr. Ugwu is a Parishioner of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Iwaya, as he was crowded by his fellow parishioners who were also in cheerful mood and they shouted 'Up Saint Stephen'. The programme came to an end with a closing prayer by Rev. Bro. Stephen Lucas, O.P.
