St. Jude Novena Preacher

Let us continue to pray to St. Jude, the patron saint of difficult cases.

Rev. Fr. AveMaria Erhariefe, O.P. (Lenten Novena Preacher)  

Rev. Fr. AveMaria is a native of Ewu in Ugheli Local Government Area of Delta State.

He joined the Dominican Order of the Province of St. Joseph the Woker, where he made his professions at St. Thomas Aquinas Priory (Dominican Institute, Ibadan). Simple profession - 1999, Solemn profession - 2004, Deaconate Profession - 2006 and Priestly Ordination - 2007.

Thereafter, he was assigned to St. Thomas Catholic Church Kumasi, Ghana for Pastoral Assistance where he also served as the Youth Chaplain.

In 2009, he was made the Associate Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Beseasi, Kumasi - Ghana, a position he is currently serving till date.

Father AveMaria has a Bachelor degree in Philosophy and a Master Degree in Theology.

He loves counselling people towards their Salvation. We welcome him to St. Dominic's Parish.

 
   
Father Ignatius Nwankwocha (January 2010 Novena Preacher)  

Fr. Ignatius Nwankwocha is a Priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha. He is a native of Alor in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

He received his priestly ordination on 2nd July, 1994. Since then, he has held the following positions:

Associate Pastor: St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Odume-Obosi / Onitsha, Associate Pastor: St. Michael's Parish, Fegge-Onitsha, Associate Pastor: St. Joseph's Parish Egbema, Ozubulu - Ekwusigo and Pastor: St. Mary's Parish Umudora Anam - Anambra West Local Govt. Area.

Thereafter, he became Supervisor Special Duties: State Education Commission Nnewi Zone, State Education Commission Ogidi Zone, Chaplain, Onitsha Young Catholic Students (ONYCAS) Idemili Zone.

Special Apostolate: Looking for and developing hidden talents.

Father Ignatious is presently on vacation, he loves reading, writing, travelling, good music, sports and meeting people.

Most Revd. Dr. Ayo-Maria Atoyebi , O.P. (October Novena Preacher)  

Most Revd. Dr. Ayo-Maria Atoyebi is the Bishop of Ilorin Diocese. He is the first and only Nigerian Dominican Bishop.

He was born on 3 December, 1944 at Okerimi-Oro.

He joined Order of Friars Preachers, made his solemn vows on 8 December 1974 and was Ordained Priest on 17 December, 1978.

On 6 March, 1992, he was appointed Bishop of Ilorin, Nigeria and thereafter Ordained as a Bishop of Ilorin Diocese on 17 May, 1992.

We welcome him to St. Dominic's Parish for the celebration of our Golden Jubilee as-well-as the feast of St. Jude Thaddeus (Patron of Difficult Cases)

 
   
Rev. Fr. Moses Osei-Attah, O.P. (September Novena Preacher)  

Rev. Fr. Moses Osei-Attah, O.P. shall preach our September Jubilee novena honouring Our Lady of Sorrows.

He made his profession on 18th September, 1993 and was ordained a Priest on 7th July 2001, at St. Thomas Aquinas Priory, Ibadan. Thereafter, he was assigned to Ghana; as Pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Bremang, Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

Rev. Fr. Moses is also the Assistant Promoter of Vocations (Ghana) and has now commenced the building drive for Dominican Nursery / Primary School and College in Ghana.

He is the Director of Veritas productions (Ghana). He loves music productions and has produced several Christian records, which are now sold in numerous Catholic Communities. He is a guitarist.

Rev. Fr. Cosmas Aina (July Novena Preacher)

Rev. Fr. Cosmas ‘Femi Aina is a native of Eruku, Kwara State Nigeria.

He attended  Oro Grammar School Oro, Kwara State and had his seminary formation at St Augustine Major Seminary Jos; Plateau State, for both philosophy and theology, which he completed in 1994. He was ordained on Aug. 13th 1994, as priest of Ilorin Diocese.

Fr. Cosmas had served as Assistant Cathedral Administrator, Parish Priest, St. Joseph Parish Osi Kwara State, Parish Priest, St. Anthony Parish Omu- Aran and Administrator of St Joseph Cathedral Ilorin.

He also went for further studies abroad at the Liturgical Institute of the University of St. Mary of the lake, Mundelein. Chicago IL. USA.

He is currently the Director of Liturgy and Teaches Liturgy at the Good Shepherd Major Seminary Kaduna, Kaduna State.

We welcome him to St. Dominic's Parish for the July Novena.

 
Rev. Fr. Paschal Chinedu Ugwu, O.P. (May Novena Preacher)

Rev. Fr. Paschal Chinedu Ugwu, O.P., is our Pentecost Novena Preacher, which comes up in May 2009. He is a member of the Dominican friars in Nigeria, a native of Udenu L.G.A. in Nsukka, Enugu State.

Fr. Paschal was ordained a Catholic Priest on July 21, 2007. He has preached in many retreats and seminars for young / lay people and presently working at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Odume - Obosi, in Onitsha Diocese.

Fr. Paschal is blessed with many talents. He loves and plays football, a professional organist and he writes and teaches Catholic hymns and music.

We gladly welcome him to St. Dominic's Parish.

 
Rev. Fr. Mario Celestine Emuebie, O.P. (March Novena Preacher)

Rev. Fr. Mario Celestine Emuebie, O.P. is our Lenten Novena Preacher for March 2009.

He was ordained a Catholic priest in the Dominican Order on the 19th of July 2008. Fr. Mario is currently assigned to St. Jude Catholic Church, Mafoluku-Oshodi, Lagos where he now works as an Associate Priest.

Fr. Mario is blessed with musical talents / voice and have some special sacred songs for the Novena.

We welcome him to St. Dominic's Parish.

 
Rev. Fr. Paul Agbomhekhe Okwobomhe Ighabor (January Novena Preacher)

Rev. Fr. Paul Agbomhekhe Okwobomhe Ighabor had his secondary education at St. Finbarr's college and teacher's training education.

He proceeded to SS Peter and Paul Major Seminary Bodija, Ibadan where he completed both his philosophical and theological studies, and was ordianed a priest on the 4th of July, 1987.

For some years he worked at the chancery as secretary to the Cardinal in Archdiocese of Lagos before posted to St. Anne's Ibara, St. Joseph Imeko and St. Mary's Ayetoro both in the diocese of Abeokuta.

He also worked at St. Thomas Aquinas Okokomaiko, Our Lady of Fatima Aguda and since 2004 he has been the parish priest of Regina Mundi Catholic Church, Mushin, till date.
